How did you become an artist?

I began to officially pursue art as a career in high school when I found there were people out there who have comic making and character design as their entire job. I wanted to be like one of them and so I poured my heart and soul to improving from small doodles on my sketchbook onto digital design. However, an artist becomes an artist the moment they start expressing their creativity, so I would say I became an artist when I began drawing as a small child.

Where do you get inspiration?

When it comes to inspiration, some websites I use are Pinterest and Instagram to get the brain working. Other times, I watch shows like “Steven Universe”, “The OwlHouse”, and “Bee and Puppycat” to get a good cute but weird vibe I strive for.

What’s your hardware setup?

I currently use Clip Studio Paint Ex on a XP-Pen Artist 22R Pro tablet. There are other times I use my Apple Ipad pro 11 to draw on Procreate.

What do you like best about Clip Studio Paint?

I love how versatile and user friendly it is. I usually get overwhelmed when entering new programs but Clip Studio Paint provides so many options in a non intrusive way that makes new users as well as experienced pros feel comfortable.

How long does it take you to make a single illustration?

One illustration takes me around 2-5 hours depending on how detailed it is.

How has Clip Studio Paint improved your workflow?

Oh, absolutely. Since I work on character art and animation, it’s super handy having it all on one program. With a press of a button, I can suddenly go into animation mode, continue there, and vice versa.

Would you like to promote some recent project?

Im currently working on a small animated short that’s still in in its preproduction stage. I post little animations here and there on my Instagram but if you’d like to support me and see behind the scenes work, feel free to check out my Patreon at Patreon.com/SnakeySalt.
